PLAYTESTING

Learning through play

One concrete change to research and rover repairs.

A game changes through specific decisions. In Starwoven, feedback on an earlier prototype led to a revision of research rewards and repairs at a player’s own cities.

Each research card now awards one victory point. Card effects still differ: some recover resources, some reveal a deposit, and damage can put a rover out of operation. The common point reward gives research a consistent scoring contribution while the card’s other consequences remain uncertain.

Repairing a rover at your own developed colony on the same planet is also free. This gives a city a practical role in supporting research on its planet, beyond its production and score.

Automated checks can verify that these rules work as intended. They cannot establish how enjoyable or balanced the game feels to people. Further playtesting is still needed to judge those questions.
